What is Associated Actors?

Associated Actors (Acteurs Associés) is a coop talent agency of professional actors and actresses who have chosen to represent themselves.

Who founded Associated Actors?

Associated Actors was founded in 1996 by two actors, Katherine Adams and Laurent Imbault, not wishing to be represented by an agent. They decided to form the first agency of independent professional actors

How does it work?

Producers, directors and casting directors send us their casting requests which are automatically forwarded to members by email.

In addition, our members appear in the search results made by casting directors on Agencesartisiques.com(France) as well as Casting Workbook (Canada).

Is there a selection in the castings that are sent to members?

No. Members receive all castings sent to the agency.

How do the members suggest themselves on the castings?

The members suggest themselves according to the method indicated by the casting directors, producers and directors in their casting notices.

How about Casting Workbook and Agences Artistiques?

In Quebec, suggestions are made either by email or through the Casting Workbook. Registered Casting Workbook members can submit themselves directly on the CW platform.

In Paris, suggestions are made through the WISCI platform or by email, as directed by the casting directors. French members must register on the agenceartistiques.com website.

Phone calls to casting directors are forbidden unless specified in the casting notice.

If a suggestion is accepted, the casting directors contact the members directly to invite them to the auditions.

What about fee negotiations and schedules?

Members manage their own fee negotiations. However, on occasion, we may offer the advice of a lawyer specializing in artistic law, who bills for his services on an hourly basis. (in Quebec only)

Members are also responsible for their audition call and their working schedules.

Do Associated Actors offer other services?

In addition to receiving castings, members have a personal page on the website where they can post their bio/curriculum/photos/videos/audio demo.

Members are solely responsible for the information posted on their personal pages.

Access to pages containing personal information is secured by a password, both for members and for trade professionals who request it.

Members also have the option of recording and editing the “self-tape” auditions for free (1 hr/max) at our offices (available in Montreal only – limited to 2/year).

Finally, members can contact us at any time for help and advice in managing their careers.

Is there a contract to sign?

Although the ideal minimum commitment is a full year, members who wish can leave the group at any time.

Do Associated Actors take a commission on fees?

No. Associated Actors do not take any commission on contracts, but rather charge a fixed annual membership fee, in addition to a registration fee.
